We had a superb schedule of speakers for the 2013 symposium:

Ronald Gross received the 2013 Malcolm Knowles SDL Award. Author of Lifelong Learning, Peak Learning, Socrates' Way, and many other publications, Ronald has devoted his career to advancing self-directed learning. He was highlighted in the NY Times web portal. Click here to view the portal.

Dr. Richard Ryan of the University of Rochester, one of the originators of Self-Determination Theory, was a special guest speaker. He is a widely published and cited researcher on the theories of human motivation, personality development , and well-being.

And of course, the symposium would not have been complete without a presentation by Dr. Huey B. Long, founder of the symposium almost 30 years ago, and author of more than 700 articles, books, and book chapters covering a wide range of topics including self-directed learning.
